This series of gifs were taken from authentic vintage advertisements ranging from the 1930’s to 2016. From cigars to make-up to ties to ketchup to apparel, each of the original ads featured some such line as “Show her it’s a man’s world,” and other highly objectional copy. My series changes these printed ads into gifs that showcase the woman taking back power over the narrative she was forced in.
